We are a diverse group of people who have chosen to be together as a testimony of what God is building in the new South Africa.
Discipleship in God’s Word, presence and power is our priority and we are passionate about helping people have personal encounters with Him, so that their lives are changed forever. We gather together in numerous sites across the city of Johannesburg, worshipping together through song, prayer, fellowship and the preaching of God’s Word.
How we worship
Worship is a key element of our Sunday services and the life of our church.
As our first ministry is to God, we worship with extravagant joy and gratitude. Our personal relationship with Him is our number one priority and we believe that we are called to live a life of worship, hosting and releasing God’s presence. Our desire is to equip and empower every believer in a lifestyle of worship.
We have a fully-fledged children’s church that focuses on developing children’s spiritual life.
Our children’s church pastors and teams are passionate about kids and facilitate an exciting programme that includes age-appropriate, practical Bible teaching, praise and worship, small group interaction and a variety of fun activities. We are passionate about children being discipled in the ways of God, giving them a hunger for the things of God and facilitating knowing Him in a real and dynamic way.
At most sites, our children’s church groups comprise:
His Tots: 18 months to 5 years old
His Kids: 6 to 12 years old
On Fridays evenings from 5pm to 7pm, our 8 to 12 years olds meet at the His People Rosebank venue for an exciting time of fun, fellowship and spiritual growth.
His People Youth ministers to the teenagers at His People Church, as well as to other teenagers across the city.
Our goal is to ignite a Kingdom movement among the teens in our community that will lead teens into an encounter with Jesus, connecting with other believers, growing to spiritual maturity, reaching out to their peers and influencing their families, schools and communities. We have youth meetings on Sundays at His People Parktown and some of our other congregations. During the week, we have events at some high schools (including Greenside High, Parktown Boys High and Parktown Girls High).
On Friday evenings, teenagers meet at our Rosebank venue from 7pm to 9:30pm for their Youth evening.
